Oh, the rain! Every single day this week and it’s threatening to continue pouring well into next week. When there was a break in the deluge, I had to take the precious opportunity to mow my lawns, back and front, or I would be forced to bring in an industrial-sized bush hog to knock down the knee-high vegetation.
I took one short walk around my neighborhood, an effort to fend off cabin fever, and to escape with my equally interiorly isolated dogs. No dedicated camera, in case of a precipitous ambush, so my only quasi-photo hike images this week were captured on my smartphone.
When I did brave the floods to restock my bare pantry and fridge, I discovered a stow away. You know it’s bad when amphibians are searching for a dry place to hide.
There was a break in the clouds this morning, and I had high hopes of a sunny day. Those hopes were dashed as the rains came despite the sun, and a thunderstorm warning crawled along the bottom of my television screen.
The only thing left to do, is make cookies and comfort eat until the storm season is over.
