Run home

While I was out Saturday running errands, I drove by our city youth ball fields. This was the first weekend for rec ball tryouts. Little kids were everywhere, little wobby-helmet-headed kids. I couldn’t stop giggling about how they looked like the Rick Moranis character from the Mel Brooks movie, “Spaceball.”

The scene also reminded me of when my grown-up kids were both in little league, either on t-ball teams or softball. That seems so very long ago. I wanted to stay and watch the tryouts, perhaps relive those childhood days- a time when running home meant something so much different from what it does now.

  5. My kids never played baseball or softball. I’m actually excited that Taylor’s boyfriend started playing on the high school baseball team. Now I get to go to the games.
