The beaches along the Florida Gulf Coast are stunning. That’s not just a residency bias, they are truly beautiful. Soft, and white, and stretching for 100s of miles.
More so in winter, than any other time of the year, the white sand beaches are often mistaken for snow. Even the dunes look like drifts.
If you look closely though, the sand isn’t really white… it’s clear. The crystal quartz of the Gulf Coast is as fine, and light, as sugar.
These beaches are part of the Gulf Shores National Seashore near Navarre, FL and near Fort Pickens State Park in Pensacola, FL.

I want to go to there.
Very beautiful and justifiable worthy of your praise.
Gorgeous…I miss the beach!!!
Beautiful photos!
Makes me forget how chilly it is here!
I love Florida’s Gulf coast, and your wonderful pix remind me why….
I would LOVE to be there right now.
These are such beautiful photos, Tara.
Your pictures show how kind the ocean can be, especially after the hurricane of Sandy that tore apart the east coast. Thank you for reminding us how beautiful the ocean is.
Our snow is pretty the first time or two that it falls. But then the chill gets to you and the thrill wears off. I could easily live with your kind of snow!
Beautiful photos. I can almost feel the sand between my toes and hear the waves as they crash on the beach. The water is so clear. I didn’t think it would be (can you tell I have never been to the Gulf Coast?)
The white sands of the Golf Coast, including the ones on the Mexican Beaches in Playa Del Carmen are just beautiful
Fabulous!!!
Those beaches are just absolutely gorgeous! I love beaches!
I’d love to walk on sugar like this!
Hasta luego or hasta la proxima vez :)
Having spent many summer vacations on beaches on the panhandle, it’s always a letdown to experience the sand/rock/mud of other beaches. None compares.
What a truly beautiful coast line.

I will have to visit these beaches the next time I get to Florida.
Gorgeous indeed.
We enjoy spending time on Vanderbilt Beach at Naples. We choose that site because FIL lives there.

I love the Gulf Coast. It is the most beautiful place in the world.
