Styled my hair just so with that old brush. I needed to look good for my audition, singing into my hirsute microphone. Must’ve been too loud, cuz Dad smacked my butt with it.
The Trifextra weekend challenge was to tell a story, in exactly 33 words, about a single object, used three different ways.

I love the voice of this piece. It takes me back to the days when my sisters and I would stand on my sister’s double bed, hairbrushes and the ends of jump ropes in hand, and sing as loudly as we could.
Oh yes, I’ve been that girl too. And I loved your word choice. Thanks for playing along with us again this week. Be sure to come on back tomorrow for the new challenge.
The road to stardom is painful ;). There isnt a person here who hasnt sung into that mic; great job!
Hair brush is the perfect mike and what girl hasn’t used it for that purpose? I’ve also been smacked by one. Lovingly, of course.
Hehe. Well done.

:-) good one
I love this, Tara. Singing into a brush, who has not done that? :-))
Love this! What is it about the hairbrush that makes it a great butt snapper? I’m still trying to figure that one out. And the hirsute microphone? Priceless!
And I’ve had my share of butt taps with one. LOL Terrific imagery.

This made me smile. Haven’t we all sung into a brush before? =)
Love it! This sang to me! Brilliantly done!
Do re mi fa so la ti DOH! That smarts… great job!
Perfect. You have described the three uses seamlessly. Great narrative!
Thank you! I was worried all three uses would not be clear.
Loved it! I too remember singing into a hairbrush (Harper Valley PTA comes to mind) Good job!
Oh, Yes! Jeanne C. Riley was in my hair brush repertoire too.
I totally choked on a chuckle with this one. Well done!
Glad I could make you laugh. Thanks!
This is funny! I could picture the entire scene.
Thanks. I’m willing to bet most people have sung to their brushes sometime in their lives.
Ha! I love it, though here, my Swiffer Wetjet is the microphone.
Tie some ribbons to the handle and you’d totally have moves like Jagger.
Shhh. It.s my daughter that keeps stealing it. Wouldn’t be an issue if she would actually mop the floor while using it. ;)
Hehehehhe… that was cute!
I’m glad you enjoyed it!
There is a singer in all of us.
I enjoyed this post.
I’ve had my share of concerts singing to my hairbrush.
Hirsute!!! YES!!! Singing into da brush.
I was hoping you’d catch that word. So much more descriptive than simply ‘hairy.’
