Saturday morning I woke from a dream crying. I couldn’t remember the details of the dream, but the rest of the day I felt, well… unsettled, and on the verge of more tears.
I tried to distract myself by going out for my usual weekend photo walk, but all it did was illustrate how preoccupied I was. No rhyme or reason, just a bunch of stuff with absolutely no connection.

(Photos shot with a Nikon D60, using an 18-55mm, 55-200mm, 20mm f/2.8 wide-angle, 50mm f/1.8 prime lens, Nikon CoolPix S205 and/or iPhone4)

Wonderful photos, Tara. I hope your dream has gone the way of most dreams, off into the mist.
I hope you have shaken off the feeling. That red door is wonderful.
Just goes to show you that you’re a true artist: the pics are still phenomenal. ;)
I love them anyway! That pelican is awesome!
Sorry to hear you had such an unsettling dream, but it did inspire some fabulous photographs!
That second shot is extremely cool.
Sometimes, “distracted” is good, at least for creativity’s sake!
Beautiful shots! You did a great job! I just hate it when I have those dreams…they are so hard to shake.
My late grandmother told me once, when I was little, that dreams are the way the brain talks to the heart.
People who say they don’t dream or aren’t affected by them, I choose to not know them.
Your brain and your heart were having a good discussion.
beautiful pictures
Amazing photos! I had one of those dreams yeeeeears back and do you know that still til this day when I think about it, I still get choked up? Strange.
There may be no common bond in your photos but they are striking nonetheless.
You may have felt disjointed, but you captured some beautiful pictures! I love the DOF of the first one…the reflections in the glass of the notary. I really enjoyed the unique and different shots of this week!
P.S. Sorry about waking from the nightmare :( I know how icky that can feel, especially when you cant’ remember what it was that was so disturbing!
Hope you are feeling less distracted and happier today, Tara! All the pictures are beautiful, but I especially love the red door one!
Lovely shots, as always.
Tara, this is weird, but I woke up on Saturday morning, to find my pillow soaked and my eyes wet. Bad dreams. But didn’t really remember what they were. Or maybe I consciously tried to forget…I don’t know. Felt quite drained, though, and a bit listless through the day with an odd sense of disquiet. Here’s a hug from me to you.
Your dream, as most dreams do, presages change. Change is good, hard. Your pictures alternate between barriers and freedom. The cusp. Courage, Robin
That red door is great.
oi, oi, oi, that door pic has three in one – great shot!
Have a good week ahead!
Growing up on the Gulf Coast in Louisiana, I have enjoyed witnessing the return of the pelican.
Beautiful shots, Tara.
