Land-escaping

This I week went to Panama City and hiked around St. Andrews State Park, Camp Helen State Park, and Grayton Beach State Park. I am totally biased, but NW Florida has some of the most beautiful nature preserves in the south.

I’m not sure what this is supposed to be, but I think it’s some sort of shrine to Vienna Sausages and beer.

Couldn’t help it… had to throw a couple of macros into the mix.

(Photos shot with a Nikon D60, using an 18-55mm, 55-200mm, 20mm f/2.8 wide-angle, 50mm f/1.8 prime lens, Nikon CoolPix S205 and/or iPhone4)

  1. Those most definitely are some gorgeous parks. They put what we have to shame, I think. That or you simply spend way more time in them and know wher to find the good stuff. Gorgeous photos, and you’re kinder than I am. I would have gone with the cynical “drunk littering” theory.

  2. A shrine to vienna sausage – Oh I would have jumped on that photographic moment, too!! I have only been to the panhandle Gulf once, but I loved it. The water was the most incredible color – it reminded me of the Caribbean.

  3. Tara your shots are simply fantastic. The reflections are so clear. Love them all. Beautiful places (when folks don’t leave their sausage cans behind ….

  4. Those water areas – any gators?
Like the macro (why don’t they call it micro – it’s not macroscope?) of the fungus mushroom whatever – looks like paper.

  5. I couldn’t “get” what I was looking at in the header photo and was about to ask when all of a sudden, BAM, I “got” it looking at the smaller version in the post! That’s a GREAT shot of the spore gills on a toadstool/mushroom!!!

  6. Biased or not, you could be right, you keep showing me more and more amazing places to explore. If only they were in the same continent as me I would go exploring there too!
    Happy SIMC.
