Boredom

Didn’t get out much to take photos this week. Two family cars are down, homework for the Tech College student and all around boredom kept me home. I took the time to work on my indoor photography, something that I am sorely lacking in technique and skill.

These are not my favorite, but I needed the practice.

(Apparently, based on the layer of dust on my desk lamp, I could cure some of my boredom by doing a little housework.)

(Photos shot with a Nikon D60, using an 18-55mm, 55-200mm, 20mm f/2.8 wide-angle, or 50mm f/1.8 prime lens and/or a Nikon CoolPix S205)

  1. Living in a rainy city I find it hard to get out as much as I can but still crave taking pictures. Indoors it is. And I actually learn a lot more about my camera, light and focusing than when I’m outside.

    Digging them all!

  2. Who needs to go outside when you can get great shots like theses without leaving?
I love your shots, is it wrong that I also love how you watermark them too?

  3. My favorite was the lizard one even though it freaked me out. And I’m glad people commented on the ice picture. I had no idea what that was. lol

  4. I am of the belief that dust makes a house a home– At least that’s my story and I’m sticking with it.

Love the change jar photo. I just raided mine for parking meter change :-)

Happy SIMC and have a great week, xo jj

  5. My favorite was the ice shot…and then I saw the money shot…literally. Love this series. Sometimes it’s far more of a challenge to find unique in the mundane :) You succeeded :D

  6. Doing housework is NEVER a cure for boredom. Or so I have found. Your first photo brings a smile to my face. How many years ago did your boy (or girl) actually get those?

So, tell me what you really think:
